How to lose weight: your first mistake

You’re a serial dieter. You know what to eat to lose weight.

Intermittent fasting, keto, paleo and other low-carb diets have no secret for you!

Plus, God knows how much sweat you’ve put into your workouts.

Yet, after many diets, dietary pills and supplements, your body still isn’t on point.

Maybe you binge as fast as you’ve fasted. Maybe your food cravings are so strong, that everyday is day one again. Or maybe you’ve been good, but you’re just not seeing results.

Well, I’ve already mentioned that losing weight starts in the mind.

So, it only makes sense that not losing weight would as well.

If your weight loss journey isn’t going as fast as you’d like to, there’s one big reason for that: you don’t believe it’s natural for you to lose weight. 

Let me explain.

You don’t believe it’s natural for you to lose weight

You’re used to struggling with weight loss

Maybe you’re aware of it, maybe you’re not. 

Doesn’t matter! 

The fact is that, your subconscious mind has labeled you as someone that struggles with their weight.

There are a couple possible reasons for that: food and weight have always been an issue for you, or they’ve been for a while now.

Either way, you’ve gotten used to being a little overweight. And you’ve forgotten what it was like to be slim and craving-free. 

The problem is that, once your subconscious mind starts believing something, it will make everything conspire to support that belief system: your actions, your decisions and your results.

And, it’s about a 1000 times more powerful than your conscious mind. So, who do you think the winner’s going to be?

Yep you’ve guessed it, it’s your subconscious!

Your subconscious vs your conscious mind

Your conscious mind wants to lose weight, but your subconscious mind doesn’t think you actually can. That’s why you think you lack willpower. Why you have uncontrollable junk food and sugar cravings, and why you’re a pro at self-sabotage. 

It’s just your subconscious trying to keep you in your comfort zone. In a body and routine you’re familiar with. 

Of course, by no means am I judging because I’ve been there myself. That’s how I got to know about that stuff!

I struggled with my weight for so many years, that I forgot what I looked like before. I swear, I couldn’t picture a fit version of myself anymore! Worst, I started to believe I had messed up my metabolism for ever. And that losing weight would be a herculean task for me.

But you know what, I finally managed to slim down. Because I shifted my belief system. And you can too!

Wanna know how? Ok, I’ll tell you.

Shift your belief system to lose weight

Accept that you’re wrong

The first thing you have to understand is that you’re hella wrong!

We all have a fit version of our body. It’s our birthright. 

And when I say fit by the way, I don’t mean slim or BMI (Body Mass Index) approved. F that!

I mean a body in which you feel powerful physically and mentally. A body in which you feel aligned with yourself. That, of course, comes in different shapes and weights. 

So anyway, like I was saying, you are entitled to a healthy body. You don’t have a slower metabolism than everybody else, and you’re not doomed to struggle with your weight. I can’t stress that enough!

What you have to do is change your self-image and get in the right mindset. And this is easier than you’d think!

Your belief system is something you can completely shift. 

Remember when you believed Santa was real?

Pretend that you’ve already lost weight

So, how do you shift a paradigm (that’s the fancy word for belief system)? 

Well, start thinking and acting as if you’ve already reached your goal body. I know that sounds silly but that really works! 

At first it’ll feel like a lie, but you have to keep going. You have to behave, dress, walk, smile, exercise and eat as if you were already at your goal weight. That’s what I did and it worked like a charm!

You’ll see an improvement in your physiology and in your mood, which are what makes up your overall state.

As I say all the time, the sustainable way to lose weight and heal your relationship with food is to do it from a state of power and courage. And pretending you’ve already achieved your goals will help you get there. It’ll help you raise your vibrations and tune into your core power!

Once you start applying this system, you may still experience resistance from your subconscious, aka cravings and binges. Babe, please don’t panic! 

It takes a while for your physical reality to catch up with your inner reality. That’s the main reason why so many people don’t believe in the Law of Attraction.

So be patient.

Conclusion

You’ve tried all the diets out there but your cravings keep coming back. Everytime you see a glimpse of progress, you do your best to sabotage it.

Well my friend, you’re not alone! It used to be the exact same for me.

Until I realized… It was because I didn’t believe I could lose weight anymore. 

I had been struggling with diets and weight loss for so long, that I had gotten used to it. I had created the false subconscious beliefs that it was normal for me to be overweight and that I was naturally a big eater. 

And it’s most probably the same for you!

The good news is that, there’s nothing wrong your metabolism. All you have to do is to reset your belief system, so that your subconscious and conscious minds get back in alignment. That takes a while, but that’s something everybody can achieve.

First, realise that being your best self is your birthright. You’re not doomed to be overweight. Reflect upon that everyday until it becomes your truth.

Second, start behaving as if you were already in your goal body. Be grateful for it everyday, walk and dress with confidence, feel how strong your abs are.

Doing this exercise will shift your physiology and increase your mood, aka put you in the powerful mindset that will allow you to lose weight!
